Meet Cara
Hi, I’m Cara, the face and founder of Casa Occupational Therapy.
I’m passionate about supporting adults with physical, neurological and complex disabilities to feel more confident, comfortable and independent in their everyday lives. For me, Occupational Therapy is about understanding the whole person - what matters to them, what their day-to-day life looks like, and finding practical ways to make life a little easier and more meaningful.
Over the past five years, I’ve worked across hospital, housing and community-based settings, supporting people with a wide range of needs, circumstances and life experiences. Along the way, I’ve also had the opportunity to step into leadership and supervision roles, mentoring other Occupational Therapists and supporting them to grow in their clinical practice.
While I’ve really valued those experiences, I found myself drawn back to what I love most about being an OT - working directly with people, building genuine relationships and being part of the small changes that can make a meaningful difference to everyday life.
That’s what led me to create Casa Occupational Therapy - a practice where I can offer a more personal, flexible and connected approach, take the time to really understand each person’s needs, and provide support that feels practical, collaborative and genuinely individual.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time outdoors with my partner and our two Rottweilers. I love hiking, camping and getting out into nature whenever I can. I’m also a bit of a creative at heart and enjoy arts and crafts, getting lost in a good thriller book, and you'll often find me enjoying a board game or two.

Assistive Technology Assessments
Assessment, trials and recommendations for equipment ranging from everyday aids through to wheelchairs, complex seating, pressure care and lifting equipment.

Casa Occupational Therapy is a mobile service, so we come to you. Appointments can take place in your home or community depending on your needs. Telehealth options are also available.
In most cases, you do not need a referral to access Occupational Therapy services. You can contact me directly to discuss your needs.
Yes. I work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
Services include Functional Capacity Assessments, Assistive Technology and Complex Seating Assessments, Home Modification Assessments, Capacity Building, and Home & Living Assessments.
Some private health insurance policies include Occupational Therapy under Extras cover. Rebates and limits vary between providers, so I recommend checking with your health fund to confirm your eligibility and level of cover.
Do you accept Medicare referrals? Occupational Therapy may be eligible for a Medicare rebate under certain referral pathways, such as a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan. Eligibility and rebate amounts depend on your circumstances and referral.
The first appointment is a chance for me to get to know you, understand your goals and discuss what is working well and where you may need support. From there, we can work out the most appropriate next steps together.
Absolutely. Family, carers, support workers and other professionals can be involved where appropriate and with your consent.
Yes. Where possible, I organise equipment trials so we can see how a product works for you in your own environment before making a recommendation.

That’s completely fine. You don’t need to know exactly what service you need before getting in touch. We can have a chat about what’s happening and work out the best place to start.
I understand that plans can change. Where possible, please provide at least 2 business days’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Late cancellations or non-attendance may incur a fee in line with your service agreement and applicable funding guidelines.
